Bob Rogers is a native of Philadelphia but started his artistic career in Pittsburgh a little over a decade ago. He has studied at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Carnegie Museum, Sweetwater Art Center and the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. His artistic development was greatly influenced by several outstanding Pittsburgh artists including his son Rob who is a nationally syndicated political cartoonist as well as Herb Olds, Linda Wallen, Bill Vrscak, Jamie Adams and James Sulkowski. His paintings have been exhibited at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and the Sweetwater Art Center, Brittany '89 and Brittany '93 art exhibit sponsored by Linda Wallen. He had 12 paintings selected by Linda's Gallery "Art in Bloom" Show in the summer of '95 and eight paintings in "uncovered", February '96. He has exhibited his works in the Design Society of Fort Walton Beach Show, "Autumn Flourishes." He was selected as one of three artists to show his watercolors (12 paintings) at the Meadville Art Center Christmas show in '96. He has shown work at the National Juried show of the American Physicians Artist Association annual exhibit yearly and is the recipient of awards in Watercolor, Oil and photography in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. In the 2001 Exhibition he received 1st award for drawing and 2nd award for watercolor. In 2002, he took the first award in oil painting. His paintings are in over 25 private collections as well as the University of Colorado, University of Pittsburgh, the University of Pennsylvania and the American Thoracic Society national headquarters in New York City. His media includes watercolor, oil, acrylic and mixed media. His paintings have concentrated on the human figure and landscapes. Recently he has been painting still lives. He is an active member of the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, where he recently participated in two shows and has his works on display throughout the year at the Watercolor Gallery, 9th & Penn Ave. He also holds memberships and is involved with the Pennsylvania Watercolor society and the American Physician Artists Association. Dr. Rogers is currently a Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine.

This show features paintings of faces, the human figure alone or in a landscape by Dr. Bob Rogers. All have been painted over the last twelve years in this country or Italy.
